Pretty sure Jimi Hendrix would have been best friends with
this band if they were around back then. The Stepkids create new age trippy
hippie experiences for their fans, both on their album and in their live show. One
of the more inadvertently funny yet accurate youtube comments from the video above is, “why do
i really feel like getting [high] all of a sudden???” Their psychedelic sound falls back on soul
mixed with indie rock to create a sonic dreamscape. They’re playing 1/14 at
Knitting Factory and with pretty much the coolest live show around (proof: video above), everyone
