KEEPAWAY, GLASSLANDS 1/10

Put your headphones on and pump up the sound because this is quality music that is far and few between. Keepaway effortlessly shifts gears throughout their songs, from trancelike to tribal to psychedelic to that catchy indie pop sound (among many others). They defy traditional standards in many songs, using funky synths and irregular drum beats with a kind of city kid swagger. It’s safe to say they’re “experimental”, but approachable experimental…not the weird kind of experimental that people always pretend to “truly get”. One song can sound like a conglomeration of ten different songs in one. It’s like Frankenstein. And it works. They’re an exciting band to watch and they’re playing Glasslands on January 10th. Tickets.
